Use of Sharia by Country.
1)dark green: Muslim-majority countries and members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation where sharia plays no role in the judicial system.
2) light green: Countries where the parties to a dispute can decide whether to have their case heard in a sharia court or in a secular court, but only on personal status issues.
3) yellow: Countries where sharia applies in personal status issues (such as marriage, divorce, inheritance, and child custody), but otherwise have a secular legal system.
4) Blue: Countries where sharia applies in full, covering personal status issues as well as criminal proceedings.
5)Orange: Countries with regional variations in the application of sharia.
